Modern Slavery Statement
Last updated: 1 May 2026
This statement is published by Vista Smile Studio, a private dental practice based in Didim, Aydın, Turkey, providing treatment to UK and international patients. While our turnover does not require us to publish a statement under section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, we have chosen to do so voluntarily to set out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain.
1. Our business
We employ a clinical and administrative team in Turkey and work with a small number of suppliers including a dental laboratory, hotel partners, airport transfer providers, dental material distributors, and IT service providers. We do not operate in any sector regarded as high-risk for forced labour, but we recognise that risk can exist anywhere.
2. Our policies
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. This is reflected in our employment contracts, recruitment practices, and supplier expectations. We comply with Turkish labour law and the relevant standards of the International Labour Organization.
3. Our people
- All staff are employed directly with written contracts in their own language.
- We verify the right to work and identity of every employee.
- Wages meet or exceed the Turkish national minimum and are paid by bank transfer.
- Working hours and rest periods comply with Turkish Labour Law No. 4857.
- Employees may raise concerns confidentially with senior management.
4. Our supply chain
We expect every supplier to operate ethically and lawfully. New suppliers are assessed for reputational and ethical risk before we engage them. Material suppliers are asked to confirm compliance with anti-slavery legislation in their jurisdiction.
5. Training and awareness
Senior staff receive guidance on identifying potential signs of modern slavery. New starters are briefed on our policy as part of their induction.
6. Reporting concerns
Anyone – staff member, patient or member of the public – who suspects modern slavery in our operations or supply chain may contact us in confidence at vistasmilestudio@gmail.com. Concerns can also be reported to the UK Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700.
7. Review
This statement is reviewed annually by the practice management team and approved for the financial year 2025/26.
